How to Check These Electricians Before You Hire

This page lists 7 of the 207 electricians with an active Washington registration and a business address in Vancouver. A row here is a starting point, not a recommendation. Before you sign anything, run through these checks:

  1. Match the name and number. The business name on the bid, truck or contract should match the registered name and registration number shown in the table. A different name can mean a different, unregistered company.
  2. Check the expiry date. Registrations must be renewed, and rows highlighted here expire within 60 days. Ask for proof of renewal if the date falls during your project.
  3. Confirm the bond. Washington requires a $30,000 surety bond for general contractors and $15,000 for specialty contractors (RCW 18.27.040). The bond is limited, so it is not a substitute for a good contract.
  4. Confirm insurance. RCW 18.27.050 requires public liability and property damage insurance for registered construction contractors. Ask for a certificate naming your project address.
  5. Re-check the live record. Our copy is from Oct 30, 2026. Open the business profile above, then confirm the current status with Washington L&I on the day you hire.

Electrical work also falls under a separate L&I electrical licensing program (RCW 19.28), and plumbers need individual certificates of competency (RCW 18.106). A missing row does not prove a business is unregistered, because our pages only include registrations with a Vancouver business address.
